I enjoy playing sports and being outside doing athletic activities. As I got older I didn't take care of myself very well and I got hurt while working. I decided to change my life style and started going to school to learn about Health and Fitness. I felt better after getting stronger. I eventually started doing CrossFit style workouts and I loved it, I knew that was what I wanted to do. I finished school and I started doing CrossFit full time and have never looked back. I am over 30 and in the best shape of my life. I love helping others improve physically and make life changes as they become better athletes.
I love sports. I also played footy (australian football) on the women's tackle team this past summer 2012. I grew up playing soccer, and played 2 years at Sac City College. I was on both the water polo and swim teams in high school. I love to run distance and i ran my first half marathon last year. I competed in a traithlon and was the swimmer for my team.
The last few years I have been teaching group classes like Zumba, Bootcamp and Body Sculpting. I've always loved to workout and play sports so fitness has been the perfect career for me. Once I started CrossFit I was hooked. I drank the Kool-Aid and have devoted all my teaching and training solely to CrossFit. It has made me stronger and brought me an even higher level of excitment for fitness. I have lost several inches in my waist and have dropped down 4 pants sizes! Bottom line... CrossFit is FUN. I know that if you give it a try you will be hooked too!
I was a Competitive gymnast from age 9 - 14 and I was a level 10 competitive trampolinist and tumbler. I then tried football in high school and it wasn't my calling. Then I did high school and all star cheer where I competed twice in the world championship. I love that in CrossFit we do something different everyday, I usually have no clue what I will be doing and it allows me to focus on the work in front of me. I also love that everyone is doing the same workout and that each movement can be scaled for anyone's physical ability. I still teach and love gymnastics but feel that CrossFit has taken my training to another level.
I grew up playing organized sports such as soccer and baseball but really fell in love with physical training in my 30's. I began doing high-intensity boot camp style workouts and then jumped into CrossFit in 2013. Learning the different movements and workouts was both addicting and intimidating to me at first having never really lifted weights much before. Since then, I've learned so much about weightlifting, mobility, how to move correctly, body management and how to pace workouts correctly. I also enjoy incorporating distance running and some periodic yoga into my training as well. What really keeps me coming back to Crossfit is the sense of community and support that coaches and other CrossFitters so generously give each other!
I started CrossFit in early 2012 to get back in shape, I quickly realized that CrossFit wasn't any ordinary fitness program. CrossFit completely changed my perception of what it means to be fit. CrossFit brings people from all different backgrounds together for one common goal to be better and "stronger than yesterday", and have fun doing it!
I began Crossfit in 2012. Crossfit challenges me physically in ways I never imagined while also strengthening me psychologically in terms of grit and resiliency. In Crossfit, I’ve found a second family that pushes and cheerleads me at the same time. As a coach, I hope to help others find new ways of relating to themselves - physically and psychologically - in the service of becoming stronger and more equipped to face life head on. Before Crossfit, I played competitive soccer, was an avid runner, and (consistent with the 80s) did a lot of step classes and water aerobics!
